Corporate Filings
Corporate Name Reservation
When creating a business entity, it is required that the name be registered so that there is no duplication.

Name Changes
If a business entity wishes to change its name, it must file the required change of name forms with its respective Secretary of State.

Address Changes
If a business entity wishes to change its address, it must file the required change of address forms with its respective Secretary of State.

Amendments
If a business entity looks to add amendments to filings with the Secretary of State of their respective state, they must file the appropriate amendment forms.

Authority to do Business in a Different State
In order to do business in a foreign state, a business entity must acquire the appropriate authority to do so.

Assumed Name Filing (DBA)
Allows a company to trade and/or do business under a different name.

Entity Conversion
If a business wants to convert from one entity to another, for example from a partnership to an LLC, it must file the appropriate forms with their Secretary of State.

Annual or Biennial Report Filings
Business entities are required to file certain reports at different times of the year, i.e. an annual tax return.

Change of Registered Agent Filing

Dissolution

While the certification of a notary is a common minimum requirement, many countries require that the notarized document be authenticated by a state- or national level Secretary of State. A state-level authentication is known as an apostille, as defined by the Hague Convention.
